Indy Pride Stands with Shaarey Tefilla

July 30, 2018

Over the weekend the Congregation Shaarey Tefilla synagogue was vandalized with Nazi graffiti and symbols.  This is a clear message of hate and violence directed at the Jewish community. Indy Pride stands in solidarity with this community to fight these acts of violence, messages of hate, and persecution. When these attacks occur, which target specific groups of people in our community, all of us are affected. In times like these, we must all work together so that our voices of peace, love, compassion, and inclusion overshadow those who commit acts of violence against us.

Tonight, at 6:00p.m. at the Congregation Shaarey Tefilla synagogue there will be a demonstration of community solidarity. We encourage all who are able to attend and show that we will not stand for these crimes motivated by hate.

Indy Pride, Inc. produces events which educate, honor our history, and celebrate the diversity of the Indianapolis Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer community. We exist to unite and serve our members and the LGBTQ+ community of Central Indiana through leadership development, educational programs, and community events which achieve inclusivity, equality, strong community connections, and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues.
