Pride Month Event Updates

March 28, 2020

Dear Indy Pride Community,

It is with a heavy heart I write to inform you that all Indy Pride events for May and June will be postponed. Since the initial outbreak of COVID-19, Indy Pride has consulted with the City of Indianapolis and the Indiana State Department of Health on the best course of action. Indy Pride’s Board of Directors and Staff believe it is in the best interest of the community to reschedule our Pride Month events.

Indy Pride’s team has secured alternate dates for the majority of the May and June events that you were looking forward to. We will begin announcing those on social media, our online event pages including our website, and via email to registered attendees once the public safety concerns alleviate.

If you are interested in receiving email updates about one or more of our Pride Month events as changes are being announced, please be sure to RSVP to these events through our website. As changes are announced, we will be sending updates directly to registered attendees to ensure that you receive the information that is important to you!

Pride is more than a party, a festival, or a parade. It is a unique time for the LGBTQ+ community to gather in solidarity, to show our strength, celebrate our authentic selves, and remember the adversity that made us who we are. Like the early radical activists of our movement, we will get through the current crisis together. Let us continue to support each other with Pride.

Indy Pride is collecting Community Resiliency Resources to support our community during these trying times. If you are connected to an organization that is providing resources like jobs, social interaction opportunities, and/or food services, please email [email protected]. In the email, please include the organization name, short description of the service(s), and any links to have the resource added to our resource list.

If you have not taken a look at our Community Resiliency Resources, please do so here. Not only are these resources here for community members who need support, but there are donation and volunteer opportunities listed here as well for community members to give support. I think you will be amazed as much as I how our community has come together to support one another!

With Pride,

Chris Handberg
