Jenny Boyts Steps Down as President of Indy Pride Board

As of Wednesday, August 14, Jenny Boyts formally transitioned out as Board President and Member of Indy Pride. The Board confidently elected Jose Castillo Jimenez as the next fearless leader to carry Indy Pride into the next exciting chapter of growth.

It is with deep gratitude and appreciation that Indy Pride announces Jenny Boyts, President of the Board of Directors, has decided to step down from her role after three years of exceptional leadership. Jenny has been a cornerstone of Indy Pride, dedicating countless hours and immeasurable energy to advancing our mission and supporting the LGBTQ+ community in Indianapolis.

Under Jenny’s guidance, Indy Pride has grown in both impact and reach, fostering inclusivity, celebrating diversity, and advocating for the rights and dignity of all. Her passion, vision, and commitment have left an indelible mark on our organization and the community we serve.

The staff and Board of Directors of Indy Pride would like to express our profound thanks to Jenny for her unwavering dedication, her strategic leadership, and her heartfelt service. While we will miss her presence in this capacity, we are excited for her continued advocacy within the community as she shifts her focus to her work with Forty5 Presents and her efforts to open safe spaces in the Indy Music Scene.

Jenny, your legacy will continue to inspire us all. We wish you nothing but success and fulfillment in your future endeavors.

It has been an absolute pleasure to serve on the Indy Pride Board for the past four years and to connect with the vibrant Queer community in Indianapolis. During my time on the board, I have had the honor of serving as Director of DEI, VP of Community, Vice President, and I am now thrilled to take on the role of the organization’s first Latinx President. I have been fortunate to work alongside a trailblazing leader like Jenny Boyts, helping to build the most diverse board of directors, create diverse programming, and expand Indy Pride’s largest paid staff to date. I am eager to continue elevating both our organization and the community, which has always been, continues to be, and will always be our main focus.

I’m excited to bring this new chapter for Indy Pride to life alongside our amazing staff and board. Much of what we achieve is made possible through the thoughtful and intentional partnerships we maintain throughout the city. We firmly believe that nothing we do can fully serve its purpose or bring joy unless it actively includes the community we fight for, uplift, and advocate on behalf of.
