The IU Indianapolis Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Social Justice Education, and the Center for Translating Research Into Practice (TRIP) are proud to present the 2025 Social Justice Symposium. This event is free and open to students, staff, faculty and community members.
With the theme of “Examining the “I’s” in Social Justice: Inclusion, Interstices, and Intersections” attendees will co-curate knowledge sharing around social justice issues through workshops, speakers, and discussions. This event focuses on student- and practitioner-led, community-centric, knowledge sharing.
This year’s Social Justice Symposium consists of two days of events:
Day One: Opening Reception on March 6 at Campus Center Cultural Arts Gallery
Day Two: Our day-long, in-person conference returns, featuring keynote speaker Dr. Brittney Cooper, professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and Africana Studies at Rutgers University. Known as “professor crunk” on social media, Cooper is the author of New York Times bestsellers Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower and Beyond Respectability: Intellectual Thought of Race Women.
