Indy Pride Board Members Attended InterPride World Conference

Indy Pride proudly sent representatives to attend
InterPride’s World Conference which took place October 17th-20th.
Board President,
Larry Stribling, and VP of Development, Eve Keller, traveled to Athens, Greece
to participate in workshops, connect with other Pride organizers, and learn
about current issues facing the global LGBTQ+ Community.
Some of the
conversations we participated in included:
Queer People of Color Caucus: claiming your space and focusing on
equity at the table and not just representation
Trans Caucus: sharing stories of activist work and discussing how to
support trans people of all ages
Small Prides Caucus: discussing common barriers for organizers and
sharing different global definitions of “Pride” from countries like the Congo,
Malta, Bulgaria, and more
Women’s Caucus: identifying resolutions to barriers as well as ideas
for more involvement and inclusion
We were also delighted to attend the evening gala and to see our own Shere Brooks, Jason Nolen-Doerr, Chris Schneider, and Jack Shepler, highlighted on the big screen holding the banner in the World Pride NYC Parade.
We
look forward to continuing our support and participating in building a stronger
global community through our future work with InterPride.
