The IU Indianapolis Division of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Social Justice Education, and the Center for Translating Research Into Practice (TRIP) are proud to present the 2025 Social Justice Symposium. This event is free and open to students, staff, faculty and community members.
With the theme of “Examining the “I’s” in Social Justice: Inclusion, Interstices, and Intersections” attendees will co-curate knowledge sharing around social justice issues through workshops, speakers, and discussions. This event focuses on student- and practitioner-led, community-centric, knowledge sharing.
This year’s Social Justice Symposium consists of two days of events:
Day One: 2025 Social Justice Symposium: Opening Reception
Unveiling a Forgotten Legacy is an elevation of Zola Lamothe’s previous work on the gentrification of Indiana Avenue and Ransom Place, upon which the IU Indianapolis campus is located. With this project, the displaced Temple and Moore families have recreated scenes where their ancestral homes once stood. Free and open to the public.
Day Two: 2025 Social Justice Symposium
March 7 at 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
